Alexis Isaac, MA, NCC
Counselor I
Alexis Isaac, MA, NCC, Resident in Counseling, serves as a counselor for Mount Regis in Salem, VA. She earned a BA in Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of San Diego, where she was named student of the year. Alexis completed her internship working with individuals impacted by interpersonal violence and substance use, including those mandated to counseling by Child Protective Services and probation. She began her residency at a university counseling center in California and moved to Virginia in 2023 to begin a PhD program in Counselor Education and Supervision at Virginia Tech. Her research interests include interpersonal violence, substance use, and group counseling, focusing on underserved populations. Alexis has published two articles, presented at national conferences, and is an active researcher. She serves as a weekend counselor at Mount Regis and supports family programming. Trained in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Practice, she is a member of the American Counseling Association and co-chairs the Montgomery County Prevention Partners Coalition. In her free time, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
